Since 1971, the Friends of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and the UW Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity (OMA&D) have hosted Celebration, a dinner and scholarship fundraiser honoring the academic excellence of EOP students and champions of diversity.

EOP Celebration has enjoyed long-standing community and corporate support. Over 500 community and business patrons attend the event each year.

The Charles E. Odegaard Award

Established in 1973, the Odegaard Award is presented at Celebration and honors individuals whose leadership in the community exemplifies the former UW president’s work on behalf of diversity. Gertrude Peoples, special assistant with the UW football program and former director of UW’s Student-Athlete Academic Services, is this year’s recipient.

For event information, please visit the biw2/206-685-9594.
