Michale Itti, AAPI Voices in Education Initiative program coordinator, will be conducting Focus Group discussions statewide for AAPI ethnic communities. The first discussions will be in the Seattle/Puget Sound area, followed by Eastern Washington.

Goal of the initiative: support AAPI families and community members by strengthening their advocacy role in our children’s education. Participation will help develop policies to support the success of AAPI students in school and life.

WHO: families, parents, and students from Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Filipino, Hawaiian, Japanese, Indian, Samoan and other Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities.

WHAT: group discussion to share experience with Washington’s preschools, K-12th grade schools and colleges.
