Love Purple Raise GoldIn honor of the UW’s 150th anniversary, Huskies far and wide are coming together for Love Purple, Raise Gold – a 48-hour online giving event with the goal of raising $150,000 between June 7 at 1:50 p.m. and June 9 at 1:51 p.m.

The UW Graduate School is seizing on Love Purple, Raise Gold to raise financial support for diversity in graduate education through a GO-MAP (Graduate Opportunities and Minority Achievement Program) Supporter Challenge. Make an online gift to GO-MAP during Love Purple, Raise Gold and your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar! Proceeds from this GO-MAP Supporter Challenge will be awarded as a one-time fellowship to a GO-MAP student during the 2012-13 academic year.

As a current UW grad student, I’ve benefited greatly from the services and support GO-MAP offers. Not only have I received funding that allowed me to focus on writing my dissertation, I have made so many friendships and been encouraged every step of the way through my graduate school career.

I’m using Love Purple, Raise Gold to say thanks and to show my support for GO-MAP’s work in the future. I hope you will join me in bringing this special year to a triumphant close by investing in diversity efforts in graduate education.

Sabrina Sig

Sabrina Bonaparte

P.S. Through a special participation challenge, GO-MAP will receive an additional $1,500 dollars if 150 supporters make an online gift during Love Purple, Raise Gold!
